Karin

How are you feeling today?

I am feeling content, excited and comfortable with where I am in life.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my resilience which has been instrumental in helping me get through some dark times in my life. This is not to say that I breeze through those times, but every time I come out of the darkness I am surprised and proud of how far I have come (again).

What is your biggest learning in life so far?

The biggest lesson for me is that nothing should be taken for granted and that we can't control everything. Our health, our relationships, our ideas of what life should look like... It's all subject to changes beyond our control.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope that I can stay in good health, that I can keep making waves around the world that inspire others to find their voice and speak up. To stay connected to my loved ones and to never stop learning and growing as a person.

What would you tell your younger self.

Take your time, you don't have to everything at break neck speed and that it's okay to ask for help. Even if you think you can do it all by yourself, you don't have to it all alone...

When or where are you happiest?

I am at my happiest when I am surrounded by people I love and who love me. When I am singing, when I am at the beach, when I am camping in nature and when I am being kind and gentle with myself.

What would you like to say to wider society?

Everybody is going through something and even if they hide it well, never make assumptions. Ask people how they are doing, offer a shoulder to lean on, listen without judgment and please don't give anyone unsolicited advice. They have often thought of all possible options themselves already. Instead, ask what they need and what would be of help to them and based on their response you can then offer your help.
